Science Investigation Awards PD Workshops
Two SIA Professional Development workshops will be offered on 12th April and 10th May for teachers involved in the UWA PICSE SIA.
Teachers are invited to share and trial ideas about using inquiry-based science investigations in your classroom, a valuable way for students to provide evidence of achievement against the WA and National Science curricula. The workshop will include examples of what research investigations might look like and opportunities available to students who complete research investigations, such as the PICSE UWA Science Investigation Awards and the STAWA Science Talent Search awards. A number of free SIA resources will be provided as well as tips and support for hosting your own SIA in school will be discussed and presented.
The evening cannot be complete without the drinks and nibbles networking session which leads into some planning and question time. You will walk away from the workshop full of knowledge, excitement and motivation to get your class started.
See SIA Workshop Flyer for more details and how to get involved. More information about entering your schools into the PICSE UWA SIA can be found under Teacher-Science Investigation Awards
