Qualitative Returns
- Make the focus relevant to the supporting School
- Developing strong linkages between the School of Agricultural Science, school teachers and school students
- Increasing the School’s profile within the local community
- Provide school students with examples of pathways from school to university to industry
- Promote the SAS through the PICSE program in Victoria.
- Publicise the availability and value of scholarships (both PICSE, industry sponsored and SAS) to students and parents
- Help facilitate and develop activities to allow the SAS to show case its facilities and research to a range of visiting students
Quantitative Returns
- Provide an annual Portfolio of evidence of community involvement
- Each year maintain the:
- links between the program and industry (both PDs and camps)
- numbers of students exposed to the program (school presentations)
- numbers of industry partners involved in the program
- numbers of teachers involved in the PD days
- development, promotion and distribution of teaching resources
- SAS presence in schools
- exposure of students to postgraduate pathways offered at the SAS
- Reaching more Yr 7 – 12 students in schools using the PICSE SAS Science Investigation Awards.
