Teacher Professional Development

Each year, PICSE USC offers senior science teachers an opportunity to come together for two days to look at cutting-edge science.

In December 2011 PICSE-USC offered a two day professional development on the national theme "The Science of Food and Fibre Security"

Teachers who attended this PD experience were engaged in citrus titration lab sessions, presentations about Food Science, an Antipasto of Science cooking activity and an Industry visit to the Health and Food Sciences Precinct in Brisbane to see science in action.

PICSE USC will be offering a two day PD on “The 2050 Challenge – solutions to create a new way of supplying quality food by 2050” December 12 – 13, 2012. This year’s Teachers PD will include trips to local industries, presentations from current researchers and practical activities which can be applied to the classroom.

Registration includes all meals during the day, conference costs and dinner on the Wednesday night!
