The South Australian PICSE Flinders team run teacher professional development events
The South Australian PICSE Flinders team run teacher professional development events. A Teacher PD will be held at Flinders University on 14-15th December. The theme this year is ‘The Science of Food and Fibre Security’. Teachers will hear presentations from academic staff and Industry representatives on this important and relevant topic. There will also be a range of practical activities for teacher to take back to the classroom.
Teachers are also able to apply for a scholarship to attend an interstate teacher PD at one of the other PICSE activity centres.
In 2009...
The two PICSE Flinders and GrowSmart Teacher PD workshops were well attended by teachers from over 20 schools. Teachers enthusiastically embraced the range of activities on show at Flinders University and surrounding industries.
In 2010…
PICSE Flinders held an independent Teacher PD. Teachers from SA and NSW participated in the event. Again, teachers were enthusiastic about the activities and presentations on offer. Teachers were also treated to a feast of locally produced fare, including a fantastic BBQ to end the event.
Joe Pilz from Karoonda Area School was awarded a scholarship to attend the UNE Teacher PD. Also, we were glad to host Mitch Smidt, who applied for a scholarship from UNE to attend the Flinders Teacher PD.
