Teacher Professional Development 2011

Each year, PICSE offers Year 11/12 science teachers an opportunity to come together for two days to look at the cutting-edge science being used in Primary Industries.

On November 21 and 22,  2011, the Teacher’s PD will be held at the Wagga Wagga Campus of Charles Sturt University. The theme for this year will be The Science of Food and Fibre Security. The PD will be relevant to subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science.

This professional development provided a unique opportunity for science teachers and laboratory technicians to learn more about the sustainable research in science that supports many areas of our local scientific industries.

The goals of this Professional Development are to demonstrate the;

  • Industry based exemplars available for Chemistry, Biology and associated sciences,
  • Relevance of science to our Primary Industries and
  • Career opportunities available for tertiary trained students.

More information and registration details will be sent to schools in September.  To be added to the mailing list please contact Emma Wordsworth on (02) 6938 1832 or by email ewordsworth@csu.edu.au
